Trends and Resources
There are many methodologies and programs in the field of education that address different aspects of learning. A few trends that I use include: 21st Century Skills promotion, Avid strategies, S.T.E.A.M. lessons, and Inter-disciplinary /Arts integration.
Educational Approaches
Below you will find links to variety of approaches that are popular in schools at this time. This list features programs I have particular experience with and find are both useful and enjoyable for students. Click icons and/or underlined text links to find out more.
Critical thinking is an important aspect of reasoning, logic, and reading comprehension. It is also a part of 21 Century skills as well as S.T.E.A.M.

S.T.E.A.M. includes the subjects Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. These subjects work together in a way that incorporates inquiry, collaboration, and integration.

AVID strategies prepare students for rigorous learning with techniques and approaches to promote higher thinking. A list of strategies can be found here: AVID Strategies

This skill set is described as the essential abilities productive workforces will need in the future including: collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking.

Arts integration offers excitement and versatility by combining creative forms with other subjects. Students explore history through storytelling, fuse math and dance, and develop interrelated understandings.
