Educational Gallery
Welcome to the Educational Gallery, a curated showcase of the dynamic and engaging learning experiences from my classrooms. This gallery highlights a variety of lessons, student work, and in-class projects, providing a window into the fun and effective educational practices I employ.

One-pager activities are fun and creative projects where students express their understanding of a topic, book, lesson, or concept on a single sheet of paper. This activity combines creative elements with analytical thinking and can include a mix of drawings, symbols, key quotes, summaries, personal reflections, and connections to other materials or real-life experiences.
Plot diagrams help students understand the narrative structures of stories. These diagrams are invaluable in teaching ELA or reading because they help students understand the sequence of events in a story and the relationships between different plot points. By mapping out the plot, students can better grasp how narratives are constructed, identify key turning points, and analyze the development of characters and themes. I used this digital version but there are paper based ones as well.

Creating a classroom "culture" is important. At the beginning of the year establish a rapport with team-building activities, ice-breakers, respect agreements, and classroom mission statements created together. This will foster connection and purpose. This can also be achieved online through virtual team building, discussion forums, and interactive activities.
"Posers" is an image analysis activity designed to stimulate critical thinking and help students with making inferences. It is a WICOR learning model approach that is part of Avid strategies for increasing rigor and higher-order thinking.

TedEd has many interesting videos on a variety of subjects that one can incorporate into lessons and personalized activities. I have used them as bell ringers, parts of a main lesson plan, and extension activities. The lessons can even be integrated with Google classroom.

Quiz-Quiz-Trade is collaborative learning activity in which students are able to get up, move around, and quiz each other. I have used this for vocabulary, reading comprehension, and dance. Simply create a set of flash cards with questions or terms on one side and answers on the other. Coach students on how the process works before beginning.
A Frayer model is a visual tool designed to assist students in grasping the meanings of vocabulary terms. This instructional approach can be implemented at any stage—before, during, or after reading—to aid in the acquisition of new vocabulary and the effective use of learning resources. Additionally, it fosters the development of critical thinking abilities in students. Some versions have students draw examples or use the word in sentences of their own making.
